Tackle Reviews

This section is going to look at items of tackle, accessories and clothing that I actually buy and use myself. I feel that reviews of rods, reels, and the usual gear we all buy is well covered already, and I see no real point in me adding to what is already out there in general terms.

The intention of this section is to pick out the more unusual items I come across, as well as some new product that catches my eye. These may not necessarily be found in tackle shops, but could be items not directly intended for angling use. It will cover all aspects of angling, both salt and freshwater, and hopefully will highlight product that proves useful, but importantly also offers reliability, durability and value for money.

Briers Working Gloves

When handling heavy, slimy fish, such as catfish and conger eels, I’ve learnt through experience that wearing a decent pair of gloves saves not just your hands from wear and tear, but also helps safeguard the fish as you have better grip and control over its movements...
